Call for Application South School on Internet Governance

The South School on Internet Governance will be held on 22 to 26 March, 2010, in Sao Paulo, Brazil

Registration for SSIG is now open until December 31st, 2009.

There are limited places for South SSIG 2010.

The main objective of the South School of Internet Governance is to train new leaders of opinion in all aspects related with Internet Governance, from a global perspective and with focus on the Latin America and Caribbean Region. The program will train university and postgraduate students from the region and from the rest of the world in understanding the complexity related with Internet Governance and its importance in the future of the Internet.

During five days of intensive training, the students will understand by whom the Internet is governed, the political, economic, social and legal implications of Internet Governance, the role of ICANN, RIRs, ccTLDs, gTLDs, IDNs, IPv6, legal aspects of security and privacy on the Internet as well as freedom of expression, privacy, e-commerce, gender, new market opportunities, protection of intellectual property, fight against cybercrime, digital divide and the development implications of Internet’s future and evolution.

The Faculty is chaired by Prof. Wolfgang Kleinwächter, University of Aarhus and by Prof. Olga Cavalli from Universidad de Buenos Aires and ITBA.

Students will get a certificate at the end of the South School.
